An yin and yang story

Tonight is the Spring Equinox, when day and night are equal. Traditionally it is believed to be a moment when energies balance them selves in a perfect harmony. Feminine and masculine, positive and negative, light and darkness, day and night, all in harmony.

Recently we also had International Woman's Day so I want to say thank you to all the women out there who are strong and loving and forgiving. In a world where equality is preached everywhere, I would like to take a moment and say yes to it, but let us not forget what makes a woman feminine and what makes a man masculine, because I believe we are on a road where we tend to lose the essence and the beauty of the differences.

So what are these differences?

Well my list would go like this:

Feminine - Masculine

Gentle - Strong Sensitive - Forceful Compassionate - Courageous, bold Sympathetic - Aggressive Warm and Yielding - Initiating, leading Sensual - Dominant, Confident Soft - Muscular Nurturing - A provider Graceful - Energetic Communicative - Can be aloof, quiet, stoic Intuitive - Logical, analytical Emotional - Rational Homemaker - Homebuilder Close - Perhaps distant Warm, motherly - Fatherly, an ideal to look up to, to

emulate Quiet - Outspoken Passive/Receptive - Active, assertive Family and inwardly oriented - Society and outwardly oriented, ambitious Cooperative, Relational - Competitive, Individualistic, self-reliant Conservative - Decisive, Independent, adventurous, willing to take risks Power - Authority

Recently, with all the 'feminine' movement, women are starting to forget to be feminine, are all focused in proving they are better, stronger, as or more competitive than men. And they started this, all because men did not recognize women as equal, they did not recognize the feminine value. But the answer I don't believe is that women should be more like men, that does not prove the feminine value. Also because there is a tendency that things balance them selves off, this makes men be more like women. Of course, in each of us there are feminine and masculine qualities. What I want to say is that - dear women, enhance on your feminine qualities, lead with them, use also your masculine qualities but in a way that they are balanced by a more feminine approach. And, dear men, don't forget to be a man but don't go over top, discover the other side of the coin, when interacting with a woman know she is your feminine side reflecting back at you, show appreciation, understanding and recognize and respect the feminine value because that only shows you respect yourself.

Dear woman, put some gentleness in everything you do, be sensitive and compassionate with yourself and others.

Be sympathetic, but bring that masculine aggressive quality out if someone crosses the line too much, but remember the saying - "Mamma tried to raise a lady, but daddy won - he raised a lady who does not take shit from anyone." The key in this saying is lady!

So be aggressive when it is necessary, but always come back to your true essence and that is warm and yielding, which only makes you more sensual.

So be soft and nurturing and let the man be the provider. Be graceful and let him be more energetic. And yes, my dear woman, you are better at communication for sure and you are more intuitive. Accept this and find a balanced way for communication. And yes, you are emotional and he is rational. That is such a great thing! You are the wings that keep his heart in the sky and let him be the anchor that keeps your feet on the ground.

Let him build you a house and you be the one that makes that house a home! Be close even when he is a little distant, but if he goes too far show him the reverse of the coin. Be passive, but receptive and let him take the lead. Show your power as a woman and let him be authoritative, in a fun way.

And dear men, don't forget! Be a man and let a woman be a woman! Show appreciation and respect! It is only your gain!

So for this Spring Equinox, I wish you all to balance your energies!
