Another very important aspect of health is having the right Yin/Yang balance inside yourself and in your life.

For women it is very important to learn to cultivate their yin/feminine side, specifically in a society where you need to be yang to strive. For men as well is very important to maintain a healthy yang aspect, especially toward family/close relationships.

I wrote about the relational aspects of yin/yang some time ago in the article here.

Today I will focus more on the importance of this balance from health point of view. The yin/yang balance is very much related to mental, emotional health and mindset; and it is needed to have a strong and stable mindset and a very good mental and emotional health for the physical health to be manifested and the immune system to be boosting.

In order to be healthy, a woman needs to be a woman and a man needs to be a man and together they need to know how to form and maintain the yin-yang sphere.

Women need to work on enhancing their yin qualities. Woman needs to learn to be quieter, to stay and wait inside herself until the man engages her in “dance”. There is a very beautiful Hindu story, the story of Parabrahma which goes like this. In the beginning the God and the Goddess were one, Prabrahma, and nothing was created. One day, Parabrahma separated itself between God (Sadashiva) and Goddess (Devi). And they stayed a while like that, in peace and harmony until Sadashiva asked the Godess (Devi) to dance for him. Her beautiful dance took an elliptical form as she would get drawn to him while he would keep forcing her away so her dance continued. And that’s the story of this sign:

The story also continues but I will stop here to keep only the portion that I believe relates to the focus of this article.

As a conclusion, dear women cultivate your femininity, enhance your mystery, leave more to be unknown than it is known, lose yourself with time, connect to Earth and your inner self. Cultivate your creativity, love yourself completely and never let yourself be known completely. Start painting, decorating, crafting, cooking, dancing and make sure that some of your activities are just for yourself and never shared with anyone.

Dear men, with you I’ll share also a Native American quote I very much love: “A woman’s highest calling is to lead a man to his soul so as to unite him with Source. A man’s greatest calling is to protect woman so that she is free to walk the earth unharmed.” The conclusion from this is to learn to be a protector, start respecting women for their feminine qualities, stop non-constructive competitiveness with women on yang-related activities, it does not matter if a woman is smarter/stronger or less smart/strong than you are, let any ego aside and be a gentleman. Exercise, build on your yang side more through group activities with your yang mates and not so much through the interaction with women. With women learn to be protective, respectful but also assertive in interaction, that is if you want to be the yang, the man and she to be the yin, the woman.

That’s the right and healthy society to build. As a society we have not yet managed to integrate this balance and I believe this is one of the keys to our evolution.

Right now there is very much confusion regarding this yin/yang, feminine/masculine balance. There is a lot of frustration, aggressiveness, disrespect, egocentric attitudes on both sides which do not help much the collective subconscious, all these getting to be manifested through different kind of physical imbalances and diseases. This is the perfect time to learn to transcend all these, to stop, review and change our attitudes in order to manifest in a healthy, correct way our own predominant energy, be it yin or yang for each.

Know yourself, cultivate and manifest your primal energy in a healthy way. Be healthy and help grow a healthy society!
